Come visit us in Morehead ! ! !
Saturday, June 2, 2012, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Morehead Conference Center
A Day In The Country is Kentucky’s original folk art fair and one of the largest annual gatherings of contemporary folk artists here or in surrounding states. More than 50 folk artists will take part in this one-of-a-kind event, showing off their works and offering them for sale.
This truly is a rare opportunity. Visit with the artists in person in their individual booths, and talk to them about their work. And, if you’re interested in buying, here’s a great opportunity to cut out the middleman: buy folk art directly from the artist. In 2012, A Day In The Country will offer you a dazzling array of original paintings by some of the most talented, self-taught artists in the eastern United States.
Walk around the fair and you will also find decorated walking sticks, stone carvings, assemblages made from junk and other found materials, as well as a fantastic selection of wood carvings, of all subjects, shapes and sizes. This year, some of the nation’s most creative folk artists will be driving in to participate in the event in Morehead from more than ten different states.
A Day in the Country is held in conjunction with the opening of the first ever survey exhibition of Ohio folk art from the Southern Ohio Museum. The exhibition reception will be held on Friday, June 1, 5-8 p.m.
Come join the excitement on June 2nd. The doors of the Morehead Conference Center doors open to the public at 9 a.m. sharp.
